I received my first commission in Sweden ! I was commissioned by Bengtsfors Kommun to create a large scale map of the world in order to mark the countries from which refugees have travelled. The map is 2 meters wide and 1.5 meters tall. The countries are laser cut into wood panels with an LED placed at the center of each. Switches line the border so that for each of the 201 countries in the world, you can turn on a switch, lighting up your country of origin. The map was presented at this years Ljusfestival ( light festival).
Below you can see the tangle of wires. Two days of soldering in a cold garage was definitely a high point of this year!
